1933 Tootsietoy, Chicago World's Fair, No.801 Mack Express Stake Truck

Scarce promotional toy purchased at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. Tootsietoy redesigned their Mack truck in 1933 and this model No. 801 Mack Express Stake Truck (Semi-Trailer) was the first in the series. It features an ornate chromolithograph decal placed in the center of the stake bed. It shows the Fair's theme "Century of Progress" and an image of a wooden fort 1833 Old Chicago set against a "modern" steel bridgework and zeppelin New Chicago.

The truck is all die cast metal with separate trailer. This is the "one piece" cab version. It features a Mack insignia on the grille, divided windshield, eight white solid rubber tires with metal hubs, and the word "EXPRESS" in raised letters on either side of the stake rail. The trailers wheels are both tandem.
